„Klexikon“ is the name of a new wiki. Its goal is to create an encyclopedia for children. The name comes from the German words Kinder and Lexikon, children and encyclopedia.
'Klexikon' is the name of a wiki, a website that can be improved by the visitors. Its goal is to create an encyclopedia for children. The name comes from the German words 'Kinder' and 'Lexikon', children and encyclopedia.


The Klexikon project is led by the journalist Michael Schulte with the advice of Ziko van Dijk and supported by Wikimedia Deutschland. WMDE is the association that supports also Wikipedia. Host of the Klexikon wiki is ZUM, a German association of teachers that already works with several wikis like Grundschulwiki.
The wiki was established on December 1st, 2014 and contains [[:Kategorie:Klexikon-Artikel|more than 2000 articles]]. Our content is readable and suited for children from the age of six to twelve years. Everyone is invited to join, but a registration is needed. You can get an account from an administrator.

We hope that we will have created more than 1000 articles by the end of 2015, in order to show that our concept works. We also consider to have the Klexikon join the wiki family of the Wikimedia movement.
